Oct 17, 2005 - American Red Cross Opens New Blood Donor Site. The Northeast Division has announced that they will open a blood donor center at 596 Westport Avenue in Norwalk. The new state of the art facility for blood collections is conveniently located to Route95 and the Merritt Parkway, and will feature a play area for children.

Sept 14, 2005 - Volunteers were honored on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at the American Red Cross Mid-Fairfield County Chapter annual Volunteer Recognition Reception.

Sept 14, 2005 - Trained Red Cross volunteers from the Mid-Fairfield County Chapter will leave this weekend to assist with disaster relief efforts in Louisiana.

Sept 3, 2005 - A Red Cross volunteer from the Mid-Fairfield County Chapter left Saturday morning to help with disaster relief and recovery efforts in Alabama. Veronica Tella of Wilton will spend two weeks in Alabama, along side thousands of other volunteers, providing Red Cross services to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Aug 31, 2005 - In response to Hurricane Katrina, the American Red Cross has launched the largest mobilization of resources in its history for a single natural disaster. Hurricane Katrina, a deadly Category 4 storm, came ashore on Monday along the Gulf Coast and has the potential to left widespread devastation in the south. The Hurricane Katrina relief operation is estimated to be larger in scope than the four hurricane operations combined from last year.

July 8, 2005 - This past spring, Connecticut Blood Services honores its volunteers, donors and organizations who have helped the lives of CT patients, either by donating thier time, blood, or facility for a blood drive. The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter was pleased to nominate Tess Perry as Volunteer of the year.

May 18, 2005 - The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross is seeking first person accounts on how the Red Cross has made in the lives of residents in Norwalk, Westport, Weston and Wilton.

May 9, 2005 - The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross celebrated Latin style with 300 Red Cross supporters at their 2nd annual Gala Fundraiser: Carnivale: A Night at the Copa. The event, on April 30, 2005 at The Westin Stamford, was held in conjunction with the New Canaan Red Cross chapter. The evening raised nearly $300,000, which will go towards supporting local Red Cross services in the communities of Norwalk, Westport, Weston, Wilton and New Canaan.

March 17, 2005 - Red Cross Responds to Area Fires: Red Cross disaster relief workers responded to a fire Wednesday evening at an industrial building at 25 Harbor Avenue in Norwalk.

March 7, 2005 - Red Cross Honors Local Unsung Heroes: The Mid-Fairfield County Chapter of the American Red Cross honored 30 local residents on Monday, March 7, 2005 at the Tenth Annual Unsung Heroes Breakfast. Approximately 230 people turned out to the Continental Manor in Norwalk to celebrate the achievements of the men and woman who were nominated by those in their communities.

February 8, 2005 - Delegate from Magen David Adom society to speak in Westport: The Mid-Fairfield County and Stamford Chapters of the American Red Cross ,in connection with the Magen David Adom Society of Israel, invites community members to attend a free presentation at the Temple Israel on 14 Coleytown Road in Westport on Tuesday, February 15, 2005.
